Week 1: Makeover Madness!

I'm participating in a TeachersPayTeachers Seller Challenge hosted by Third in Hollywood, Teach Create Motivate, Sparkling in Second, and Peppy Zesty Teacherista! These gals have put together a fabulous challenge to better ourselves as sellers. Our week 1 challenge was to update an old product in some sort of way.
I chose to take one of my freebies and added a fresh cover page to it! I also changed up the layout of the two writing templates as well as changed out the fonts!
I'm looking forward to week 2, 3, and 4 to better myself professionally and learn from others!

Currently June!

I'm linking up with Farley from Oh Boy 4th Grade again for yet another Currently post! June is always bittersweet because it is so close to summer, yet I'm about to let my most favorite class yet go onto second grade! This year truly has been a blessing and my kids are so sweet.

Listening: To the young living diffuser. Currently diffusing is Thieves from YL. This is one of my most favorite oil because it has so many uses! Mostly, I'm sitting next to it so that I can make sure my immune system is in check for these last few days of school! I feel like everyone and their mother is out of school except me! Anywhoooo...If you don't know much about essential oils. Let me just tell you about Thieves! I LOVE the story behind it and how it got its name. Long ago, when people died from bubonic plague, grave diggers used to place a blend of oil on a cloth and place it over their face while stealing. They never once caught a plague. This is why Thieves is believed to protect against germs and keep your immune system in check. Cool right?! I thought so.

Loving: My end of the year gifts! I put End of the year gifts off until the last minute this year but I decided on beach balls and bubble wands. I am so excited to see the kids' faces:) I plan to write their name on the beach ball with fancy letters and let them pass their balls around to sign as a keepsake. Afterward, we will throw them around the room for a real beach party!

Thinking: About what kind of car my husband and I will purchase in the near future! As you already know, Houston, and surrounding areas were about washed out by massive flood waters this past week! During the storm, our car received tons of water damage. Water up to the steering wheel, you guessed it---car=totaled. SOOOOOO. That means new car time for us. Any suggestions? Speaking of floodwater, Farley has a "donate" button on her Currently post where you can donate to WAG. Tons of pets were washed away from their owners in the midst of the devastation. Feel free to donate if you feel it call to your heart.

Wanting: To start my summer reading list. I don't have a huge list, however, I am excited to have some spare time to read. I'm in the process of reading Paper Towns and Allegiant right now but am open to suggestions!

Needing: to be better at devotions! I am also looking for good devotionals to read. I've been off kilter a tad bit and need to get it back in my routine to spend some quality time with the Lord. It sure is refreshing to be back on the right track!

Summer Lovin' : Summer is right around the corner for me after Friday! I plan to relax by reading, have coffee dates with lots of friends, great conversation, perhaps float the river in New Braunfels, and I suppose hit the gym more regularly!

Next time you hear from me I will be loving the summer agenda and having a blast! Can't wait! For now, check out all of the other bloggers who have already started their summer fun!

Currently......May?!

I'm linking up with Farley over at Oh Boy 4th Grade for yet another Currently party:)
I feel like every month I start these blog posts the same...but seriously y'all. Where is the year going?! May is bittersweet because it is the last full month with my firsties.

Listening: To the NFL Draft. Once again, my husband is glued to the television awaiting the picks for his teams while I blog away;) For some reason, however, I do think that the draft is entertaining!
Loving: My super star readers. Now stick with me a moment while I brag on my first graders. First of all, over half of my students are beginning ESL or Intermediate ESL students. We have been working so hard this year to read and practice our strategies. As of yesterday, ALL but 3 of my students are on level in reading. I was so excited I could pop open. Because we are so excited, tomorrow we will be making homemade slime:)

Thinking: About all of the end of the year prep there is to do. I've been trying to slowly get rid of junk, clean, and organize for next year. Today, in our mailboxes, there it sat.....the end of the year checklist. Approximately 6 pages of tasks to accomplish and get signed off before the end of the school year. POOF. instant stress. I immediately went to my planner and started breaking it down and see it laid out on a calendar. One day at a time is about to me my new motto!

Wanting: To be back in Mexico! Scott (my husband) and I went to Riviera Maya for our honeymoon. I LOVED it. With the weather starting to warm up and summer quickly approaching..I am pretending I am back in Mexico. Relaxed, mindless, and soaking up all of the sun I can get!

Needing: More hours in my day! I don't feel like there are enough hours in the day to get all I need done! I wake up at 5:00am, get ready, head to school, prep for the day, teach, teach, teach, organize and enter grades, go to the gym, come home, do the dinner thing, and it's pretty much time to go to bed so I can do it all over again! Can I get an Amen? HA. Bring on summer break! That's the life of a teacher though, right? I'll take it any day because I love my job:)

Summer Doing: Going to VEGAS! I cannot be more excited about this as it approaches! I can't wait to meet even more new friends! Let me know if you are coming in the comments below! :)

Summer Hoping: To go to the gym even more and have a lot more time on my hands to do it!

Summer Dreaming: I wish that my husband and I were ready to make a down payment on our first official house together. However, we are not quite ready yet. We're doing the smart thing and saving for a huge down payment in cash and we are ALMOST done paying off college tuition loans! (June) WHOOOOOOP! It'll pay off though;)

Thank you so much for stopping by! Check out all of the others back at the linky!

A Spring In My Step!

Boy am I glad it's Spring! I am loving how it stays lighter longer--I feel as if I can get so much more accomplished! Speaking of accomplishing things and hitting milestones, I thought I would share a small milestone with you! I have been on this blogging/TpT journey for less than a year now and have already learned so much and met so many wonderful people! I recently just got over 100 followers in my little TpT store and I couldn't be more excited:) I have also gotten to participate in a loop as well as many giveaways! The blogging world is such a fun place to be and I am so happy I found all of you!

I have not yet accomplished this, however, one of my "spring cleaning" goals is to print all of my pictures and organize them into albums. I have been meaning to do this FORever. There is just something about the feeling of extreme organization that just tastes so sweet!

Spring in my town is BEE-YOUUUU-TIIII-FULLL! I'm originally from South Dakota, however, now reside in Houston, TX. By beautiful I mean the weather. I don't mind the heat, or really even the humidity to a point. I grew up in South Dakota where Spring could still mean a snow storm! This girl will DEFINITELY take the heat and humidity any day! I have recess duty and it has been absolutely wonderful outside! Spring in Houston means that it is almost ready to be into the scorching temperatures! Time for tanning, reading by the pool, Spring dresses, and shorts!

Do the Bunny Hop! {A CVC Word Game}

This CVC word game is perfect for RTI students and struggling readers! It is perfect for literacy centers or to use as a guided reading skill:)

I don't know about your kids, but mine LIVE for crafts! Some of these go perfectly with the units and themes we study in the Spring semester! I love how simple they are and that they require simple materials to get your hands on!
Hands On As We Grow

Looking for books to add to your bookshelf for spring? Try these! So cute and can be used as introductory lessons for many things!

Buggy and Buddy Books

Who doesn't love them self a freebie!? I've been busy working on my Phonics Poems Pack for short vowels! This is a sample poem from my pack especially for you! This will be a forever freebie in my store! Our class does poetry in the spring and although my first graders are past CVC words, this is the perfect way to introduce poems as well as the parts of the poems to them! I hope you can enjoy this just as much as my class will! :)

I am so glad that you were able to join me! Thanks for stopping by! Check out what others are up to this Spring and look for other freebies and resources! NOW ......for the GIVEAWAY!
