Monday Made it: Classroom Decorating Week:)

Hello! Good morning/afternoon, whenever you are reading this! I am beyond excited to get into my classroom TODAY! I've got lots of plans for today and plan to make a lot of progress! Lots of pictures to come soon:) For another Monday, I am linking up with Tara from 4th Grade Frolics for Monday Made it. Yippeee! This week has been very busy, I attended a wedding, spent time doing last minute summer things before summer was gone, and deep cleaned my house one last time before going back to school. Therefore, I only have one project to share with you.
Here's what you need--it's simple. Thread, a needle, and scissors!

There is a spot in my classroom from the wall to my ELMO projector that is connected by a cord. There is no cute way to cover it up and protect it besides a rug. Well, if you have noticed like I have, a rug large enough to cover that entire area is EXPENSIVE. So what is one to do?

Buy Two! :)
Well now that I have two rugs, how do I make the OCD in myself happy where I don't have to constantly line up these rugs? You guessed right…Sew.

Now do you also see why I only have one "Made-it" for you? This took absolutely FOREVER because yes, I did sew it by hand. I wanted to be sure it was secure enough for scooting children to sit on. I am also going to put a strip of Duct tape underneath just to be sure. It turned out super cute and was way cheaper buying two rugs and sewing them together rather than buying a larger area rug! You cannot even tell because the thread is the same color:)

That is all for my projects this week, however, I am going to share with you this week's deal that I was super excited about!
"Oh, I don't need any Expo Markers.." SAID NO TEACHER EVER. At Office Depot/Office Max this week a pack of 4 Expo markers are $1. Yes, you heard me. ONE DOLLAR! I went to Office Depot and they must have made a mistake and did not put it in their add so just mention that Office Max is having that sale and have it ready to pull up on your phone. They will price match because usually they have the same sales since they are linking. If your location runs out, check to see if Walmart or Staples carries a 4 pack and have them price match:) You just can't beat that price! You're Welcome.

They also have $3 Ticonderoga Pencils (24pk). They really live up to their name. The World's Best Pencil. This is a great price for this brand of pencils! Have fun:)

Thank you so much for spending some of your Monday with me! Check out what other teachers made this week back at the linkup! Have a great week:)

  1. I use two small rugs together, too, but luckily there's a heavy file cabinet on them so they stay put without sewing! And thanks for the Expo tip– I'm off! Kathleen

  2. Perfect timing for me to learn about your rug sewing trick! I've been looking for a larger rug and it had crossed my mind to buy a 2nd one like what I already have and just bump them up alongside each other. Thanks for the inspiration!
